I hate patching EQ and seeing UI.files being downloaded, I cringe everytime.
I also want to thank you for keeping this UI updated its all I've ever used sence is was made like four years ago and I hope you continue doing so.
If I had to learn another UI i would be sad and go nuts!
Leownia has played a raiding paladin for 8 years in 4 different guilds across 3 different servers. still raids on Maelin in Momentum.
Thank you again so very much for keeping this UI upto date and I hope your able to keep it going for many years to come.
Leo~

If the OptionsWindow, or any window, is set to have a "default" border (ie: WND_Def), then for the most part, you do not need it as part of your UI. It will load from the Default UI. No reason to keep a XML file updated if there is no reason to. A good handfull of XML files were changed in the Default folder when the new filagree UI came out, changing only the bordering template name to make it look pretty (gag). The files that were still set to the old-style framework is still suitable for the Default_old.
Hope that makes sence.

Drakah,
Concerning:
REMOVED: menuicons01.tga (be sure you delete your TGA file if you are only updating!!!)
REMOVED: EQUI_OptionsWindow.xml (be sure you delete your XML file if you are only updating!!!)
I can understand why you would want the .tga file be removed from the package but why not update the OptionsWindow? Your file would be the same as the default but haven't you done that for a number of other files?
Just curious if there was more to it than that.
Thanks for all the great work!

If you have WinZip installed...
Just place the ZIP file in EverQuest\uifiles
Rightclick over the file and choose "Extract to here"
You will see you now have 2 folders listed (default and default_old)
Log into game, type /loadskin default_old, or use the LoadUI button from the options menu

I did that part correctly. I will figure it out. I still can not get anything but the reg default to load. I don't want to be a pest with my post so I will just keep trying on my own. Thanks for the help from all.

The old EQ windows are fine the size they are. I don't want to change anything just get the old ones back. Your awesome and I know it has to be a LOT of work.
Thanks

Re: Re: default_old update
Every UI I create (or keep updated for that matter) comes with a lovely Readme.txt file. But seriously, I wouldn't write up a readme file if it wasn't absolutely needed to do so. You know how much it sucks to keep readme's current? Bleh! I might even purposely make some files unusable until the readme is opened and read..... hmmm j/k
If you have any issues with any UI of mine, just reinstall it from scratch... meaning delete the old folder and install a new one, fresh. I do a lot of testing for compatibilty, so the chances of something "broken" is next to none.
If you want smaller buff icons, you could copy the buffwindow.xml and the shortdurationbuffwnd.xml files from Default to Default_old. It won't break, Ive tried it. Also, you could copy the spellicon tga files and the gemicons tga files from Default to Default_old if you like the foo-foo icons. However, I would HIGHLY recommend the Etasi icons, for which I put in every UI I make. They are the easiest to decipher and clean!

Yet I have downloaded the patch and only thing I still get is the new UIs. All work just fine but the reason I went back to the old UI is mostly because of the spell book and spells I just can not see the newer ones. They all just look a blur to me.
I tried saving todays patch to the patch from May 2007 on the old_default UI but no luck.
I did read the read me files but greek is hard for me ..
Why do they make us all suffer so much lol...
