The default spell icons showing up for me has always been a dead giveaway the default_old UI failed to load and I am looking at the horrible default UI.
Check the UIErrors.txt file in the main \Everquest folder. At the bottom of the page you may see what is causing it (don't worry about all the file not found messages). |

There shouldn't be anything to update. None of the updated files from the August 20th patch are customized in this UI.

These were the 4 files updated on August 20th:
- Changed -
EQUI_AudioTriggersWindow.xml
EQUI_DragItems.xml
EQUI_GuildManagementWnd.xml
EQUI_OptionsWindow.xml
I think EQUI_AudioTriggersWindow.xml may need updating. When I open it up ingame doesn't look normal like before.

That file should not be in the default_old folder. You may want to reinstall the UI in case there are other issues. From the instructions above:

Issues.
I've been having issues in certain zones crashing on zone load...
Had to revert to dreaded "default" as ui and it resolved issues... so needs updating.

There hasn't been any UI updates in the last 2 months that should have affected this one. Have you tried reinstalling the default_old UI after deleting the current folder? |

Yeah .. realized it was some other custom UI piece i had added that messed things up...
Clean install of default_old .. then added my custom pieces one by one by one.. with a UI reload after each add... to determine whaich one messing me up... found it.. and replaced it with an updated version..
Working fine now. |
