Window showing modifications made to Fyrecaster's Player Windows
|
|
Ok first I want to give credit to Voxfire for suggesting I switch the Target and Tribute sections. Also would like to thank Vektil for ideas concerning the target con indicator and the group window layover. I would also like to thank all those whoencouraged me to loose the Player info section (ie. character name, class diety and level). With that being said there are, Read Me and View Me files included in this download which give written and visual details as to what has been changed from my original player window design.
Couple things I would like to point out are:
>>> I decided to drop the Dragon-like attack indicator in this version for a highly visible "Attack On" indicator.
>>> I did remove the player charatcer info and increased the overall font size throughtout the entire window.
>>> This window version is still in the testing phase, so advice, criticism, questions and suggestions are all welcome. Single comments are welcome on the download page, but multiple concerns or perpetual dialogue can be sent to my email at [email protected] .
This is for those who dont generally look at the download pics so I am including it in the body of this message.

Names of group members out of zone.
First of all this is an outstanding piece. You have done a tremendous job. I was wondering if they were any progress on getting names shown on group members when out of zone. I apologize ahead of time if this was already answered on the other threads.

Questions Answered
Haleoo:
King Size It: Will you be making a 1280 x 1024 Version of this player window?
Answer is yes I was in process of doing just that, it just took me a bit longer than I first anticipated. I was having to work out excess spacing issues, lack of space issues, and finally got a working model that I am confident about, it will be posted under the title Fyrecasters 1280 Player Windows.
Unable to load: I have tried loading this version twice after downloading it twice. Both times it went back to default.
Ok you're not actually the first that has addressed this issue, so I will explain it here and will also quote this when I post the newer window. In the download there are 2 versions of the Player Window. One specifically made for nothing but pure melee classes (ie. Warrior, Monks, Rogues, and Berserkers), and the other made for Casters and Hybrids. When installing the UI you need to create a seperate folder for casters and one for meleers. Then rename the following files accordingly and place them in the appropriate file folder.
EQUI_PlayerWindow-MeleeWithCasting Guage to EQUI_PlayerWindow :then place this file into your Meleers file folder along with a copy of EQUI_GroupWindow, EQUI_TargetWindow, attackindicator, window_pieces01
EQUI_PlayerWindow-SpellUsers to EQUI_PlayerWindow :then place this file into your Spellcasters file folder along with a copy of EQUI_GroupWindow, EQUI_TargetWindow, attackindicator, window_pieces01
Doing that will allow you to load the UI accordingly. For me I use "custom" as the name of my spellcasters folder due to the fact I only play one non-casting character. As for my other folder it is called "custom2", by keeping the names simple I effectively eliminate confussion as to which UI to load. I hope this helps you and answers your questions. OOC timer works for me finally!!!
Great, I am glad, since was just a problem with the graphic file as I found out and explained, I had modified my window_pieces01.tga but hadnt included one in the original downloads. Oooopps, hehe.
Now, questions...
1) How do I close the original casting Gauge? Does anyone know? I have two casting gauges atm.
I dont know of a way to close the original casting window since its not <Style_Closebox>true</Style_Closebox>. Modifying that file to say true would only give you that red message saying your current UI configuration is not compatible or it would automatically revert to the Default UI folder. However, what I did was I moved my casting window out of sight, to the very bottom left hand corner, using the longest casting spells(easily done by a Shaman). To fix the problem for my pure meleer folder I copied my shamans UI and renamed it to my monks name then moved all the windows accordingly to how I like my monk being setup.
2) How do I keep the overlays on top for the group and target window?
Unfortunately there is not a garaunteed way of keeping them in the foreground, it is rare that they slip behind but it does happen. The only way to fix this is by hitting the Alt-T and Alt-P to close them and then again to bring them back to the foreground. (This was in the Read Me file of the download)
3) My Target overlay is horizontal not verticle...
Uhm send me a screenshot, I gotta see this one to help, as I have no clue how that would have happened. Sounds funny, but if I could see it it would be a great help in resolving.
