Changelog
  • Fixed the merenary AA exp gauge.

Features
  • 14px high titlebars with custom minimize/maximize, help and close buttons.
  • 1px borders.
  • No filigrees! All window borders are square.
  • Unnecessary titlebars removed.
  • Detailed vertical layouts for the long and short duration buff windows.
  • 18*18px buff icons.
  • Play with current (default) or classic spell icons.
  • Play with transparent (default) or textured windows.
  • Horizontal combat abilities window.
  • New effects window, where only the target spells and con colors are visible.
  • Combined target and target of target windows.
  • Reworked casting and breath bars.
  • Smaller MainEQ button.

Release notes
  • This is a very simple UI. Nothing fancy i would say, except for a pair of modifications.
    My goal is to preserve the original look and feel and get rid of the things that annoy me the most, like filigrees, rounded corners and those big and intrusive titlebars that are everywhere wasting precious space.
    Now i think the windows are much easier to organize in screen, in most cases they are smaller and clearer.
    Some other windows are reworked too, hope you like the modifications.
  • These are some batch files you can use to further customize the look of the interface:

    . Spells_Icons_Classic.bat: Install classic spells icons.
    . Spells_Icons_Current.bat (default): Use current spells icons instead.

    . Windows_Transparent.bat (default): Use some transparent windows.
    . Windows_Textured.bat: Use textured windows.

Recalculating and repositioning manually all the gauges, labels and buttons for all the 23 extended targets is a lot of work, and i'm pretty sure that job is already done in another UI.

So if you know of any UI that uses the horizontal layout that you like i'm pretty happy to addapt it to VoktarUI

Updated for Live

Sorry for the delay and the lack of time to update this UI, live is a bitch...

For anyone interested in keeping up-to-date/current this interface with live changes just look inside DevLog folder: It's very easy: just find, copy/paste, add or replace some tags, they are all indicated in the text files.

This is a near perfect fit for my minimalist dream skin!

I like a lot of the elements of the original UI, but wanted an XP gauge, to get rid of the 'station cash' button, to change the title bar of the default windows, and to get rid of the little dot-like-circles on the corner of practically every window.

I came to EQinterface today to download some custom UIs as examples to learn how to built my own with these goals in mind, so it was a very pleasant surprise to see you had already created a skin with all these things in mind!

Thank you for sharing this with the community! I hope you plan to keep it updated? If not, I may try to create my own theme similar to this in my spare time, and list your work (this skin) as the inspiration!

Really like this UI mod but Im getting a message that something is not compatible but Im not sure what it might be. Is anyone still working on this one or have any idea of what I can remove to get rid of the issue. I havent had any problems yet but would hate for one to crop up at the wrong time as problems often do. Thanks in advance.

My Favorite UI to date. Kind of miss the old Player window with all the Stats, hp/mp regen and resists but it was easy enough to find an older copy of the UI and just copy and paste the old player window xml and tga. thanks for all the hard work you put into this.

Added the option for Classic Spell Icons.

I'm glad you guys like it, i have spent many hours on it, thanks

Sorry for not keeping it up-to-date with the latest patches. I have included a folder named "Development_Logs" where you can find all the modifications i have done to the original files, -the ones in uifiles/default-.

If one patch break the UI, you only have to copy the file that has been modified, from default to VoktarUI, and apply the modifications mentioned.

Just follow the tags, it's very easy.

Thumbs up Thanks for the update

Thanks so much for the update Voktar. Your UI is the only one I really like and when you stopped updating it for a bit you would not believe the things I learned just to keep it running :-),. The only thing I missed was the old Player window with the stats and the HP/MP regen. But I kept backups for them and they work just fine with the newer updates . Thanks again for keeping it updated,

Old spell and buff icons

This looks like a really good UI, however, I prefer the old spell and buff icons. You know, where the cleric hp buff looks like a heart divided into red and white halves. Is there a way to use this UI but have those icons?

Hello bkgarner,

You have 2 bat files inside the VoktarUI folder: Spell_Icons_Classic.bat & Spell_Icons_Default.bat, just double click on the Classic one to play with the old spell and buffs icons.

Compass Window

I really like the compass window with the exp, aaxp and level on it, but on the gauges, there are 2 decimal places that interfere with tthe percent sign and itt looks all jumbled up.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Edit - I figured out how to delete the percent sign and that makes it much better, but would prefer to truncate the number to zero decimal places.

Yeah sorry, didn't played in a while. Although i'll try to check for UI file modifications each week to keep this UI up to date, this change in precision passed unnoticed because in fact, no files where changed

Decimal places can't be truncated, they are hardcoded in an EQType client object.

It should be displayed correctly right now in 1.73.000.

EDIT: Oops, percent sign still didn't show correctly, that's strange because they looked perfectly in the Test Server, should be fixed in a 1.73.001 revision soon.
