Description
This is a new version of solaria it's experimental and upto date on ALL patches. If you have any issues with this file please email me, or PM me.

After looking over and trying to get ready for EQ2's UI Kudane and I began looking at the new DDS file format in EQ2 and decided to convert solaria to it. I'm pleased to announce Kudane and My work a success!

Solaria 2.0 Boasts a complete TGA over haul for all Modified files to DDS format! What does this mean? well the zip for 1 is 200kb! the unzipped folder is only 1.7 MB rather then 6MB. Each file is about 129kb or less in comparison to the 1MB TGA's Solaria used to use. This should mean a theoretical Boost in UI performance! Please use it test it and give us feedback.

[NOTE:]
It is NOT compatible with ANY other Vert or existing solaria Mod at this time.
After testing is complete I will convert all existing Solaria Mods to the 2.x format.

Solaria and Vert are both definately "large screen" UIs. When I say that, I mean they use large buttons and have a lot of dead space that while fine if running at larger than 1280x1024 or so, cause space issues with smaller displays.

I know that I myself when I modded this UI shrunk some buttons and eliminated as much dead space as I could, however that's just the nature of the UI and until a version made for the "small screen" comes out, it's a fact of life one will have to deal with I'm afraid.

i run the UI on 1280x1024 starts getting a little crowded on 1024x768 and horribly so at resolutions that are smaller. thats just me tho

Wink Seems faster

Ok.. I've been running the DDS UI for awhile now and it seems to be faster than the other UI's I have used. What do I mean by faster? I actually couldn't say if my life depended on it. It is just an overall feeling that it is more responsive than the various T.King UIs I 've always used. However, either I did something wrong installing it, or it has a few bugs. My UI Errors file went to 22 pages when I printed it out. Alot of missing child errors and it seems to be still looking for tga files of some sort. All the same, it seems to be working properly and it is a good UI. Good job in the exploration of new territory.

the augment thing, remove the container XML file from the solaria directory. that may solve your problem.

if it doesn't, i just copied the default container XML file to the solaria directory and augmenting worked fine.

Re: Melee ?!?

The only thing I'd like to see is a small mod to make the Spell Gem window icons the size of the Buff Slots window icons (also the same size as the Song icons). That dang screen space is at a premium! =)

Thanks

Melee ?!?

If you get time could you make a melee version. I love the UI but the mana bar being there just bothers me, and the combat abilities chops off some of the words.

Edit: Did a little tinkering and found the player window in the dds files, so i fixed that. Made the combat window a little better by making the buttons short and wide.

my problem is fixed, and diddnt have anything to do with this ui.
Would it be possible to have the tabs and arrows on the macro button window to remain when the transparancy is set to full like the named buttons are visable ? that would help alot .I would still love to change the spell icons for nicer looking ones than the default )
Was able to successfully change the icons to the ones i like thanks so much )

I tried deleating the whole folder and reinstalling the UIs to a new folder but they still wont work. all custum UI i install revert to default except this one.But i Must say this one looks and runs nice.
another question... is it possible to mod this ui with the icons that i love from another UI? havent looked at the default ones in a long time and im really confusedwhen i play ... good thing u list the spell names on the bar ...

Faster running EQ?

Does this UI actually make EQ run faster and smoother? it almost seems that way as I have tried thiswith my alts. If that is so i would love to see my other favorite UI done in this format. I also love the way u did the char select screen with the flashing logo. can more things be added like that ? perhapps timers or healthbar?

very interesting indeed ))

Solaria 2.0 changes incoming?

So far the new UI seems very nice. I did notice that it still has no "help" button on the toolbar, and no "lfg" button on the group window, as have been added to Sony's ui. Might we look for upgrades of these with Solaria 2.0? Additonally, does the new UI add the augment removal system, or will it?

Thanks, great work, I am a loyal user of your UI's. Your time and efforts are appreciated.
