Voice macro's in OoW

Will the new voice macro's in OoW be "skinable"? or will they be like the rest of the sound in EQ - patched if you change it?

1. I am sure they are like the rest of the EQ sounds, and patched if changed.

2. remember that even if you change your end, what others hear won't change..

Fobia A Ghoul Join Date: Jan 2004 Posts: 16	Actually looking at the directory structure I'm not sure that is the case.. they patch into the voice/default directory.. which to me hints are the chance to modify them either a) now, or b) in the future..

Using Ctrl+V will bring up the new Voice Macro UI. There you will see a list of available voice macros as well as the options of Play, Tell, Group and Raid. Selecting a macro and play will play the macro for you only. Selecting a macro and using one of the other options will send the voice macro to either a tell (using the person you have targeted as the recipient), group or raid.

ps. I was wrong, you can record your own. I will work on adding a category for sound files/voice macros this week.

Does it acyually send their macro'es to you?

And I have looked at the directory structure - the sounds folder has no subfolder, where is the "User Directory" to be placed?

But I still haven't figured out how to let others hear them. They still hear the eq default, even though you can hear your custom one. Even if you bypass the patcher which would normally repatch the deleted defaults, they still hear the originals. Qinadwen An Executioner Join Date: Mar 2003 Server: Venril Sathir Posts: 364	I am not sure, as I havent got OoW yet but I dont think it is meant to be, so you can hear others - imagine the transfers of files that would result in - MAJOR lag monster that one i think you can customize them, so they fit to you, so that you are comfortable with them and know 100% what they stand for - that is all ....

Harthina A Bat Join Date: May 2003 Posts: 1	From what I understand of the patch notes, when you customize the voice macros, only you will hear the customized ones. However, ifyou and your friends email the files to each other (or share them on a website) then at least the people you group with/send tells to most will be able to get the same sounds. I'd love to see a library of voice sounds...some of the ones they came up with don't fit my impression of the races at all. My friend's female woodelf sounds like a chipmunk on helium, and my own dear, flirty dwarf warrioress sounds unfortunately like a shemale who's a heavy smoker
