Looking to get back into UI editing
Hello folks,
once upon a time, long long ago i dabbled in Interface editing for EQ. I even posted one that i changed here. I have since left and come back to eq so many times its silly. Now I have been back a while and the UI i have been using is quasi-abandoned by its author. I would like to make updates to this UI for personal use (tho i mean to ask the author if he minds if i work on it) what i need to know is what do i NEED to know to make the updates? where can i find comparisons for changes? i saw there was a forum for comparisons but its about as dead as dead can be.
can someone please point me toward some resource with tips on updating an existing UI to make it compatible with live?
Thanks in advance

Personally, I use winmerge for comparisons.
It does the job, and it's free.
I compare 'default' and my own UI and then work through all the differences to see what is required, what is special to my UI, etc.
I try to keep the layout of any files I modify as close to the default as possible to make comparisons easier.
Also, if you are really organised, you can make a copy of default before patch days so you can compare it to the updated version once you have patched.
